A couple months ago was my first ever trip to Paris. A group of six of us rented a large apartment in Montmartre. For those who are familiar with the districts of Paris, Montmartre is located in the north of the city in the 18th Arrondissement.  I am so glad we were able to stay in Montmartre because it is my favorite part of Paris.
Meandering through the winding cobblestone streets of Montmartre hillock is a delightful adventure. Gift shops, galleries, restaurants, bakeries and fresh food markets in all shapes and forms line the streets. Our biggest problem was deciding which of the tempting eateries in which to dine.
If you want to walk on an incline you will eventually reach the base of Sacre-Coeur Basilica (a future blog entry).  The total height of Montmartre hillock is about 130 meters, or 427 feet. As you can see from the accompanying images there are steps everywhere and lots of vantage points to see the Paris skyline or the streets below.Terraced Dining wm
