With a 6-foot (2-meter) wingspan the Brown Pelican is the smallest in the pelican family. How graceful to watch as this beautiful bird glides through the air, those huge wings making little movement. Then observe as it slowly comes in for a smooth landing with little splash or noise. A fascinating phenomenon. My favourite bird.
